COMPETITION DETAILS
Registration is required to participate.
Registration is now open and will remain open until 5 June 2023.
Only entries from registered groups will be considered for judging.
To register, School Groups must submit the following details via form in the registration link:
- School Name
- Country
- State
- Group Name
- Total size of the Group (min. of 5 and max. of 15 students)
- Number of lead teachers in the group (maximum of 3 teachers)
- Mobile Number (student & teacher)
- Email (student & teacher)
There are 2 (TWO) categories available:
- Aged 7 – 12
- Aged 13 – 17
The group criteria for participation are as follows:
- Each group must have a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 15 students
- Each group can have a maximum of 3 teachers
- All students in a group must be from the same school
To participate, groups must adhere to the following requirements:

LEGO Creation Framework Requirements:
The LEGO creations must be mounted on a board with dimensions of 60 cm x 60 cm (length x breadth), and the model's maximum height should be 120 cm (1.2 m). Only submissions from registered participant groups will be accepted for the judging process.
The judging process for the submitted LEGO creations will consider the following criteria:
- Implementation of STEM elements in the design work
- Creativity based on the chosen theme and category
Please note that the criteria above will need to be further explained in the description submitted alongside the LEGO creation. Furthermore, we only accept design entries that are 100% original and unique.
Submit Final LEGO creation(s) BEFORE 7 July 2023
Entries can be submitted from June 19, 2023, 10 AM, and the deadline to submit entries is July 7, 2023, 6 PM Malaysia Time. Entries must include:
- A description of the LEGO® Model in 50-100 words in English language only
- 3-5 pictures of the LEGO® Model showcasing the build from different angles
- A video showcasing the final model, with a minimum length of 40 seconds and a maximum length of 60 seconds
- Videos and pictures must be uploaded to the campaign microsite (URL to be shared later). Please ensure that your video is in MP4 format and does not exceed 1GB in size.
- Only entries from registered groups in the previous phase will be accepted for judging in this phase.
Concept Guidance:
Participants are given the theme of LEGO® Cities of the Future.
Guidance to Marks:
The judging process for the submitted LEGO model will include the following criteria:
- Implementation of STEM elements in the design work.
- Creativity based on the chosen theme and category.
- Only original and unique designs are to be submitted.

The scoring is based on the following:
- Presentation
- Aesthetically pleasing
- Includes elements of the Theme Given, Category Chosen, STEM and Creativity Element
- Originality
- Shows brilliant demonstration of imagination by creator
- Ideas Composition
- Shows wonderful ideas of space and structure
- The composition is aligned with the Theme Given, Category Chosen, STEM and Creativity Element
- Use of Color
- Shows beautiful flow of color and shape
- Piece Story
- Participant is required to explain their design and the method used to feature the Theme Given, Category Chosen, STEM and Creativity elements.
- The written submission must in English language, with a well woven story
The top 10 winning groups (5 from each age category) will receive the following:
- A LEGO® Trophy
- Iconic LEGO Sets (1 per Group)
- Invitation to LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort for Prize Giving Ceremony
- Exclusive workshop with International LEGO Model Builder for the grand prize winners

About LEGOLAND School Challenge
The LEGOLAND School Challenge was first launched in 2022 with the aim to inspire students to unleash their imaginations and create the worlds of their dreams with LEGO®. With the support of the Ministry of Education, public school students could opt to participate in the school challenge as their co-curricular activity.
In October 2022, among the 200 submissions from schools nationwide,12 winning LEGO Builds from schools nationwide were selected as the most creative and innovative representation of The LEGOLAND School Challenge theme, “Pride of Your State”.
Winners of the challenge received a trip to LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort, a grand trophy made of LEGO bricks and cool prizes worth up to RM81,000.
The winning LEGO brick creations were displayed at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort until March 2023 for guests to appreciate.
